Mobile Lung Cancer Unit, Greater Manchester


What

Lung assessment unit providing health checks and screening services to eligible people to assist the NHS plan to improve early detection and survival for those diagnosed with cancer. The service runs in order to detect abnormalities and lung cancer presence leading to a simpler and more successful treatment plan. The lung unit, aim is to bring cancer services closer to cancer patients in their local communities. Visit the website for more information.


Where

Operating throughout Greater Manchester, visiting Oldham, Failsworth, Kingsway and the Etihad Stadium. Staying on location for six weeks or more, depending on demand


Who

People who are either smokers or ex-smokers aged between 55 and 74 years old in the Greater Manchester area, who have been referred for lung health checks on board the unit. Patients will be invited for a lung health assessment from the NHS letting them know that the unit is in their area
